Thom is absolutely right and we should enjoy this moment of success. But we must also remember that the struggle is not over. In one form or another it has been going on since the first Neolithic village tyrant discovered that people would follow him. When Cheney became vice-president I said to my wife, "Didn't we get rid of people like that with Nixon?" And she wisely replied, "People like that always come back." Trump may fade away like an exiled pretender to the throne, but the next rising person with his ideas will be much slicker. It is likely that America will mostly heal from the damage done by this psychopath, but we can never let our guard down either.
Voter Suppresion and partisan gerrymandering needs to be fought and crushed.
Our Democracy infrastructure has been trashed, bullied, and broken by years of Republican attacks. So much to do there. While there are obviously many more things Biden/Harris will be working on in addition to what Thom highlighted, such as - immigration, economic justice, international policies..., to sustain progress we'll need to fix the process we use every 2 years to put leaders who reflect the will of the people into the halls of power. ... AKA, "Voting Infrastructure".
If we don't, another Republican in the White House may finish the work of Trump and Republicans in destroying what's left of our Democracy.
Veterans day is coming, the blurbs will be endless. We need to honor our vets, by ending our endless wars to protect fortune 500 companies right's to global hegemony.
With Biden, the only thing we can say for certain is that Trumpian attacks on our sensibilities will recede. But many of the things we rile about happened with Biden's participation e.g. Iraq war, deteriorating infrastructure, low wages, exported jobs, wealth concentration etc. While I have heaved a sight of relief, I am not hopeful about many other things that we all cherish such as universal government funded health care, low cost post secondary education, reduction of arbitrary police powers, interference in the affairs of sovereign governments etc. Also, Biden won but almost half the voters voted for Trump. These people are highly volatile and I am afraid they will pick up their guns and revolt at his suggestion anytime. Democrats and Biden have not offered any substantial benefits for us. And the benefits that have accured to the ultra rich are left untouched. not only that, Republicans have now taken up the mantle of the working man. Good job Democrats!
One more day in the lame duck session. Trump fires Defense Secretary Esper. Dr Ben Carson of HUD tests positve for Covid. Pfizer announces its vaccine is 90% effective. Pence takes credit. Pfizer retracts that they did this privately and were not in the Government Program. More, I am sure. 71days left.
Alaska has counted 47% of its ballots and plans to start counting again tomorrow. It is scheduled for a week. So far it is heavily Republican vote. Why would it be so heavily Republican?
Someone pass the word out that if Trump refuses to leave office in 2021, we must ensure that the Dem Senators and House's who lost their re-election will ALSO refuse to leave office come Jan 2021.
Make no mistake about it, the reason djt is touting election fraud and legal actions is because he is beginning negotiations to exonerate he and his republican cronies for their actions over the past 4 years. If he wins, he takes it all, if he looses, he opens up negotiations to exonerate in exchange for giving America a clean exit after loosing. We are so past the post Nixon era where we agreed to allow political figures to plunder because we needed to “save face” for this country. That’s what empowered reigns like Trumps, knowing this is a country of lemmings and cowards. We need to be as committed to prosecuting the Republican party as they are to burying this democracy. These are not patriots, they are wolves in sheep’s clothing and they must be put to political rest and replaced with a new party with better values.
And maybe, could anyone explain to me why the debate is always capitalism or socialism, when clearly, all 1st world countries economies run on MIXED economies? And, even the economies we're taught are socialist, are, in reality MIXED economies..
Could some one, anyone in authority, please make the idiots in the U$A aware of that fact, or ask them what elements of socialism here in America, they want to do away with;

Of course it is a good day. And eventhough a bad day is necessary, the challenge is to understand it and make the next one (or the next tothe next...) a good one.
Trump served the Reps well by repealing a lot of things that should have been implemented and painting red the supreme court. However, when he becomes a sitting duck (after the lame-duck period) I doubt that he will be granted political asylum by the republican party. Reps had enough shitting from him.
Whatever goes up must come down. Or as some Jamaicans say "Di More monkey climb Di more im backside expose"

Hi Thom
I thought today was the day they were coming back and going to make sure to jump right on the stimulus package ha ha.
Instead all I see is McConnell talking about how it's totally justified that Trump can sue.
Joke. Knew it.
Citizens count last.
