Can you imagine the daily, out-of-breath fire and brimstone coming from enraged Republicans if Trump was the Democrat's guy? No, you can't; because first, you would have to succumb to a willing suspension of disbelief and then imagine that Democrats would have selected the most unqualified, self-dealing, vindictive asshole as their Great White Hope out of a large primary field of other such contenders.
That's just not a Democratic thing. No, a racist base chock-full of blithering idiots, who simply cannot comprehend America's core ideals and constitutional principles, is owned lock, stock, and barrel by the Republican Party. And the rest of the world knows full well that basic fact of American politics -- especially our enemies.

Concerned pandemic experts are now strongly recommending more than ever that to reduce the odds of infection even further, people should wear safety glasses, goggles, or face shields in addition to masks when entering crowded indoor environments, such as stores, bars, restaurants, schools, hospitals, clinics, jails, prisons, mass transit, airports, planes, production lines, nursing homes, etc. (That should drive deranged wingers completely over the edge. Most are barely hanging on by their fingertips to what's left of their dubious sanity anyway.)
Being in those infected air spaces for an extended period, the odds are not insignificant that the aerosolized form of the virus could easily land on the eyeball -- an ideal mucous membrane from which to enter the body -- with enough viral load (appx. 1,000 plus) to overwhelm the body's initial defenses and trigger the disease.
Also, since so many people are disregarding the doctors' advice about restricting holiday travel and extended family gatherings, in about a month, the U.S. will not be "merely" experiencing just another spike but will be likely facing a genuine humanitarian crisis of biblical proportions much worse than most of us can imagine, notwithstanding the nine months of craziness that we did not imagine in the "before times."
Another huge danger is that pandemic-weary people will start letting their guard down, thinking that a vaccine cure-all is just around the corner that will save the day, forgetting that it will take several months (if we're lucky) to scale up mass production and distribution to commence a vaccination program, which will actually inject the vaccine into people's arms. We are far from being out of the woods; in fact, we haven't even entered the darkest, scariest part yet.

The best part is Trump said that the stock market would crash if Biden was elected. In fact, it has boomed due to his election.
It's all about the stock market. Seems to me that getting a decent interest rate on bank savings would be an economic plus. Guaranteed good interest rates on savings would be a good deal for all, including the banks.
Trump stopped by the press room for sixty seconds to say the stock market hit 30,000, and he said that people needed to know that was a "sacred number". I am so glad he had a religious experience.
The stock market is supposed to be a chance for everyone to have a piece of the pie. The reality is that 52% of trades are now high-frequency computer fraud, and 40% of the market is foreign owned. The stock market is a casino with some criminal activity thrown in. It is easy to see why it appeals to Trump and the Republicans. I'd like to see a transaction tax put in place so we can fund some good social programs. That's how to get Americans an opportunity to get their fair share for doing all the real work.

Actually, the real work begins right friggin now, tonight! If Democrats don't take both Senate seats in Georgia on January 5th, almost zero long-lasting solutions for the critical issues on that very long list of major catastrophes facing America and the world will even make it out of the starting gate. Moscow Mitch is the real monster; Trump was just the cartoon version.
As Obama would say, the urgency is NOW! Every Democrat in every state with fingers to call and type and a few bucks in the bank had better put aside celebrating the November 3rd national win and utilize every resource available to help Georgia Democrats rile up their base once again.
The real fight is just beginning. And it's not about changing minds ideologically at this point, either; most people are already too polarized for that to make much of a difference. No, it's about growing raw power the old-fashion way -- by voting! It's that simple ...and that hard.
It's about pulling out all stops for a full-court press to get Democrats in Georgia to come out in droves. Blacks and women, primarily, but also young people handed Biden his victory. If you know someone in Georgia -- and even if you don't -- call them. If you can donate money to help their get-out-the-vote effort and to help fund the campaigns of Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock, do it. Engage with social media to counteract the over-the-top lies that the right-wing is kicking into high gear -- a war we know is coming, on steroids.
For example, Frank Miele is a relatively little-known but highly effective intellectual propagandist who knowingly bears false witness against Democrats in rural America -- the real power behind the Republican-held Senate. (Miele is also a part-time columnist at Real Clear Politics.) But he is only one of the many stormtroopers in the Republican army.
And don't get sucked into the endless pontifications of Big TV corporate media, which serves only to dampen enthusiasm and reduce politics to a tasteless gruel, discouraging people from partaking.
Now is not the time to rest on one's laurels. Enjoy the holiday cheer, but don't let the good times distract us from bringing the fight to the enemy, which at the moment is embodied in the worthless hides of Senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler.

Trump has been fired, and that is awesome, but, so far, Biden's picks don't ease my concerns.

With most states adopting optical scanners and paper ballots marked with ovals, elections are largely secure. What insecuritieis exist have to do with validating signatures and residence. locally. The serious problem is at the tabulation level. Election tabulation can be done by spreadsheet and the local and town/county/state tabulations need to be made public and validated. In this way any fooling with elections will be behind us. The facts that tabulation is not given the srutiny that individual voting is given suggests that governments want the possibility to throw the elections.
