Coalage, what many of these malcontent leftie/socialists don't understand is the fact much of the working population is less concerned with "facts" and more concerned with actual results. If you listen to the alt left, so far we have had a nuclear war with No. Korea and Iran, Melania is wearing the wrong shoes, and Putin is sharing the White House with Trump.
I voted for Trump only because he was an outsider with a very different approach to governing plus his judge appointments were very important to me. I agree with half of what he says or does but so far from my point of view, he is miles ahead of Obama or anything Bernie Sanders would have accomplished, note I exclude Hillary Clinton because after she stabbed Sanders and proclaimed she would attack the gun owners she was doomed to the dustbin of losers.

It is easy to be misled into believing that the Cambridge Analytica story is about rogue data miners taking advantage of an innocent Facebook. Facebook’s decision to suspend Cambridge Analytica’s access, the use of terms like “data breach”, and a good deal of coverage in the media seems to follow these lines. That, however, misses the key point. This is not a data breach by any means – and nor is it something that could not have been predicted or could easily have been avoided. This is, in many ways, Cambridge Analytica using Facebook exactly as the social media platform was designed to be used. This is how Facebook works.
Three key parts of Facebook’s model come into play: gathering data from people in order to profile them, both en masse and individually, designing systems that allow that data to be used to target people for advertising and content, then allowing third parties (generally advertisers) to use the data and those targeting systems for their own purposes. The head of Trumps campaign is facing 300 years in prison. Trump has McCoabe fired. He is undermining the FBI. Trump was never vetted. Could he pass a security clearance. Nobody has seen his taxes. Money is pooring in from other countries to his hotels and resorts. The list goes on. A train wreck every day.

Why do I think the democrats are the true fascists in the US? Easy. Which party demands that everyone goose step in tune, and there can be no deviation? The dems. Want to be a pro-life democrat? The democrats used to be able to claim the mantra of the big tent. They may still have a big tent, but the tickets to get in are now going to a different group of people. The democratic party I grew up with used to try and make room for everybody under the big top. That is not the case any longer. Either goose step with us, or move along.

How come that RED RESET BUTTON didn't have you hyperventilating about Putin ... or the Uranium? Putin's been around for a while now, but never an issue with the left until Trump won.
There are a lot of really bad guys out there but that fasicist, hitler thing is really getting old, used so much you would think there is a hitler under every bed, in every closet and behind every bush. A comment like the Democratic Party is leading the rise of Fascism is further evidence of the effectiveness of alt right propaganda.
The image of throngs of cheering German citizens lining the streets as Hitler rides by with his entourage always makes me feel ill. I get nauseated not only because of Hitler, but also by the thought of all those supposedly sane people buying into Adolf's self puffed evil.
We've seen this movie before. The incremental stages of normalizing what was considered extreme outrage just a couple years ago is not imaginary, it's happening again, and yes it's real! Even some progressive outlets have fallen victim to spinning the constant chaos as if it's just the new normal we all should learn to accept. Can you imagine waking from a two years sleep and turning on the news????
Why is this country still in denial of the obvious? Why are we allowing a few extremely wealthy and power hungry individuals distract us with a fool like Trump and his fascist base while they tear down 243 years of hard fought gains?
Putin is sure proving his point, our "democracy" can be just as corrupt and authoritarian as his version of fascism. As to Obama and data mining, that was talked about on a local radio show in my part of the woods.
You should know all about fascism as the democratic party is leading the charge.
Mueller should be fired at some point if he doesn't wrap up this investigation in some reasonable period of time. How about six more months? Even though the dems and the never Trumpers would love it, you cannot set the precedent of just allowing a special prosecutor to hang around forever.

Why are you so upset about the Cambridge Analytical news, and the Mercer family? Whatever they did was not illegal, at least according to what I heard. Facebook is now just trying to save face because they allowed different groups and organizations to do this.
According to some reports I heard this morning, it was the Obama administration who first came up with one of the methods of data mining user data from Facebook several years ago. It is said that the NYT even praised them for their "inventiveness".
