I can’t imagine Pres. Obama has any interest in doing anything functional to change the current state of affairs re. Government warrantless surveillance of Americans’ personal info..if in fact he even has the practical power to do so. The only thing more terrifying than the Government engaging in this activity is the notion that a private corp. would be ‘sanctioned’ to do it for the Gov. (as if they aren’t already). A private corporation would have no accountability to the people!
Although more subtle, covert and thus more insidious than Nazi Germany, thanks to carful control of reporting by the corporate media that partner with the richest most powerful milt-nationals, we have allowed our nation to be carefully “crafted” into the most aggressive empire in the history of the world. Whistleblower Sibel Edmonds, formerly with the FBI, is under a permanent gag order with regard to her case. She has since dedicated her life to helping other whistleblowers via her blog/pod Boilingfrogspost.com. Many whistle blowers like Russel Tice, formerly with Air Force Intelligence, Office of Naval intelligence and the NSA, have tried to tell the media what they know. In his case, on June 19, 2013, before an interview he was told the following by an MSNBC producer:
“We Don’t Want a Word on Your Allegations Pertaining to NSA Wiretapping of Obama, Judges & Activists”
Tice was quoted on Boiling Frogs Post as saying;
“When they were placing the ear-phone in my ear with less than ten minutes left till my air time, the producer in New York said that their lawyers were discussing the material, and at this time, they did not want me to mention anything about the NSA wiretaps against all the people and organizations that I mentioned. That is how it went down. I did say on the air that I know it is much worse and would like to talk about that some time.”

Doug...I heard a guy speak back in 2000 in Atlanta...his name escapes, but he was supposedly staff to someone in the Clinton Admin. He spoke of the illusion of conflict and how behind closed doors, the elites of both parties are in lock step...and it's been all about the money since the dawn of the Republic. The only period that even came close to true democracy, the post new deal era, only came about because global trade was more protectionist, the media actually covered news in the public interest and Industrialists didn't have as much automation, they actually needed human labor to build their fortunes. With NAFTA, deregulation and merger madness came a new era of greed...more $$$ in the hands of fewer and fewer. It became socially acceptable to flaunt wealth and to criticize instead of have compassion for the poor. When I was growing up, people who flaunted their wealth were frowned upon. The wealthy often considered philanthropy and paying taxes their patriotic duty. Being in a high tax bracket was a subtle 'status symbol' of wealth. Today, our tax dollars skip the commons and go straight into the pockets of private military industrial police-state contractors and subsidies for corrupt Congresspeople-'gentleman' farmers, Oiligarchs and Banksters. Corporations have run the show for the most part all along. The laws that have protected us from their abuses in the past did so because an eliment of decency held all out corruption at bay. The corrupt faction of the powers elite have been working tirelessly since the new deal to undermine Democracy and social/economic justice...Remember Edward Bernays? The nephew of Sigmund Freud who big industrialists contracted with to teach them how to use the media to turn us into mass consumers?..the idea that the masses were too stupid, too dangerous to think for themselves? With the vilification of the poor and minorities (unless they're rich) becoming the new 'tres chic', the way was paved for them to destroy us in the name of a 'free' market and 'self responsibility'. The notion of being our brother's keeper was vilified as communism and socialism (as if democratic versions of those would be bad things). The way I see it, unless we go back to the Greek Lottery System (citizens serve on a parliament selected randomly- like jury duty)...we will never truly have self governance.

Clinton governed like a republican and stole the thunder from GOP opponents. Obama attempted the same pathway [ACA was a Heritage Foundation product], but McConnel was burned the first time around by Clinton. He proceded to reject everything that was proposed, even compromises, to prevent losing market share. He even filibustered his own self sponored bill.
They really aren't ideologues as much as they are Ayn Randian power leeches. Parasites require power to survive, the host's survival is not as important if an alternate host is targeted and vulnerable. Clinton was a host, Obama attempted to be, but the leeches and lesser parasites developed a sophisticated palate. They also saw the Democratic host as a low fat, low cal, host. The real exorbitantly rich hosts were always GOP, and they are so ignorant they don't even know they have an assortment of leeches, ticks, and gastro-intestinal parasites.
Democrats do an occasional exam and remove the ticks and leeches spawned on K street, GOP recruits them and even opens their own pants for crabs [come on in, can I get you something?]. Spreading the infection is a means of survival, and crabs are easily transmitted.
btw, I could have chosen viruses as a metaphore for American politics [herpes fits the narrative] or bacterial infections, but parasites seemed to be more closely related to the subject. Genetic disease might also work. I've already introduced Lesion Heir's Disease elsewhere.

Since reagan democrats have asked like liberals to get elected, tan governed about the same as republicans.. Democrats are less than 10-percent to the left of republicans essentially the same party. Makes sense Because both parties are controlled by big money, and big-money also controls the media, that makes it look like they are polar opposites, that's a smoke screen to conceal puppetmaster big-money.

I don't know what your definition of "totally not the same." That very long list of Clinton's de-regulation benefitted only the 1-percent, exactly the same thing I would have expected Reagan or bush to have done..
Fuck, even the conservative Ross Perot was against NAFTA (he referred to a giant sucking sound of American jobs flushing south to Mexico; pretty obvious expectation of results of NAFTA; and Clinton fired his liberal economic advisor Robert reich)..
Worse, these regulations were key regulations put in place to prevent the Great Depression from happening again., Now, the same thing is happening again, same as last time, like a big game of unregulated monopoly, too much money trickled up to the top, and crashed the economy, because like monopoly, no one but the 1-percent had money to spend.
Yes, Clinton balanced the budget after reagan blew it up (spending like a drunk sailor with a credit card), so he did good there, and did something for gay rights. This is not the lesser of two evils, its the same party (both are authoritarian conservative, one 10-percent less extreme than the other).
Grover norquists two Santa Claus strategy is for republicans to spend like hell, then complain about the deficit and spending when a democrat gets into office. So republicans cal lower taxes, yet there is still money, but they are running up America's credit card..
The only way DEM & REP are totally different in how democrats sound like liberals on the campaign trail. The media owned by big business (The puppet master of both parties) makes it seem they are total opposites, to conceal the puppet master.

I agree with Sandlewould. Our president was elected under completely false pretense. I also appreciate her highlighting the contrast between candidate Obama and President Obama, as if they were two different people with objectives so at odds as to have them "at war" with each other. You're spot-on, Sandlewould! Great observation.
It astounds me that someone like Obama who is a "constitutional scholar" (and a constitutional lawyer?!) would sign into law something as brazenly unconstitutional as arbitrary, indefinite detention without charge or trial... And sanction murder-by-drone of innocents in foreign countries, and rob us of our national sovereignty with the TPP; via fast-track, no less! I just can't get over it.
I thought things were pretty bad in the '60s… but I never dreamed I'd witness a freak show of this magnitude. Never again will I support any candidate for high office who has not already proven himself (or herself) as a first-rate warrior for the people! Talk is cheap. Actions always speak loudest; especially when it comes to politics, where the stakes are so bloody high.
As I've said many times, I had reservations about Obama right from the very beginning. But his opponents were so disgustingly, grossly unacceptable, I felt trapped into voting for him anyway. And I'll remember this next time I'm tempted to vote for an unproven candidate, or someone I've already had reservations about.

sandlewould: You're preaching to the choir on the corpse controlled media, man I've beat that to death on Thom's blog and elsewhere, so I couldn't agree more. As you know in a true democracy a major role of a free press is to function as an adversary or watch dog of our government. Without this in place, transparency and accountability over what should be responsible public service from our elected officials becomes lost to the citizens.
I've spoke with several local folks about organizing a group who's sole purpose is to communicate face to face with local citzens the truth about what our public servants have done to or for us. Namely what our Tea Party Rep Tom Reed has done to us.... voted yes on Ryan's budget plans. These bastards think they can get away with this crap just because the corpse media has their backs....well guess what...not in my neck of the woods. It looks like we will be organizing just in time for the midterms.
"Our" government certainly is treasonist. They have trampled the Constitution and Bill of Rights. They are the greatest terrorist threat to the American people. I am very concerned that there are 21 levels of security clearance over what the "president" has. It indicates that our "president" is a puppet and that is a violation of our Constitution in itself.
It sure looks to me like Obama is the worst thing that could have ever happened to the middle class in America next to the clintons. We need a third party more than ever.

DAnneMarc: I used to watch the History channel all the time..they had programs on ET as well as other interesting things but I started to get the impression they were acting like the old 60s or 70s Project Bluebook dramatizations they had on TV that would build you up in the beginning just to crash you at the end. There was always a "logical" explanation at the end to make the viewer feel like they were foolish to have been taken in by non-sense. I suspected that this was part of the government program to debunk these things and to build up a mass psychological repulsion to anything that would challenge the official position.
The older I get the more my concern is not on how I was "created" but on how I will be "uncreated"...ie: devolved into worm food....and when.
Sandlewould: Thanks for that link. I watched the entire video including the color part toward the end. All jokes about Hare Krishna aside (Cremo and his co-author are both Hare Krishna...Cremo is not a scientist just an author), Cremo's position is religious based and not scientific based. While the Christian religion (at least some of them) believes that man, and the universe, was created merely 5000 to 6000 years ago...Cremo follows Hare Krisna beliefs that "modern" man has existed on the earth for many millions, perhaps billions of years. They believe that in the beginning spirit came into being which spawned the humans which were far more advanced than now and has been devolving ever since.
I read Cremo's book when it first came out sometime about 1994 or so. I don't even remember much of what he said in the book...one thing, I think, had to do with archeologists finding gigantic animals buried in millions of year old rock or peat bogs or something that we have been taught wasn't endemic to Canada...normally thought to be of African origin...I believe. And he was claiming that the scientific community was covering this all up. Anyway, I believe I wrote him off as just another kook.
Really, Cremo is not much different than the so-called Scientific Creationists.
Palindromedary ~ The "Miracle of Fatima" is a two layer event. It began when three young girls became entranced by what they described as a "angelic" lady. (Supposedly, The Blessed Virgin Mary as described in Revelations) She appeared to them on the 13th of every month for several months in a row. No one else saw the lady but many witnesses saw the children behaving very oddly when the visions happened. Their faces were said to glow. The lady gave the children messages and prophecies for the world. One of the prophecies was that a public miracle would be performed for all to see on a certain day, October 13, 1917. Over time the word spread about the children's experiences and on that day people gathered in a huge crowd. Though there were the faithful and clergy present there were also a vast number of skeptics and atheists.
What happened next was quite remarkable. According to the story the clouds parted and the sun appeared. The sun then began to grow as if it was getting closer. It spun around on itself and gave off sparks. The air got hotter and then the sun began a descent in a zigzag pattern until it struck the earth. This vision was seen by everyone present.
It would be hard to discount the girl's story because what they said would happen as they were told actually happened exactly as they were told. It is almost impossible to discount the eyewitness testimony of thousands of people as well. However, it is entirely within the realm of possibility that this was a UFO encounter of some kind. After all, what the people basically saw was a bright sphere approaching and landing on the horizon. Basically, that is the same description of most UFO encounters. What the children experienced is anyone's guess, however, several cases of encounters also talk about telepathic communications. I think it is important we keep an open mind with this UFO/Supernatural connection. It may not be entirely possible to figure this mystery out without serious consideration of both realms.
I certainly agree. It is silly to think that these ET's are being brought down by accident by any of our technology. In that ship encounter you mentioned it is the ET's that brought down our technology. Therefore, why the crashes? Well, if you look at Biblical prophecy there is a mention that at a certain time in the future (present), war will break out in heaven. What that might look like is up to your imagination. However, it is something to keep in mind that would certainly explain all these crashes. Perhaps also many of the radical sightings. Perhaps there is an interplanetary Galactic war going on; and, perhaps that is another reason why the government doesn't want us to know anything. Perhaps the government has entered into a secret treaty with whom they think we might just all agree is the wrong side. After all, they seem to be very good at doing just that. (Remember the stars on the Republican logo?)
That's true. However, the opposite is also true. That is, a full disclosure might have a very positive effect on religion. You are presuming that our government supports religion. I say they support false religion. I'm not sure if you've followed the documentary series on the History channel, "Ancient Aliens." They do a great job of reviewing scripture, legend, mythology, hieroglyphics, art, and ancient artifacts from the perspective that all these divine encounters may have actually been encounters from people from other planets. A most fascinating approach. If there is anything to this theory, alien visitation is a old as history. If that is truly the case, then it is more important than ever to take these ancient legends and artifacts seriously. Perhaps total disclosure on UFO's would reveal that God, or an ET higher intelligence, really exists in a way that people can easily understand. Belief based on fact is no longer faith. Henceforth, the end of the reign of false religions.
Once that revelation happens, everyone will believe and act accordingly. That world is not a very lucrative one for the practicers of greed and war profiting. Also, its not a very good one for ET's who want to identify all the humans who would chose to violate their code of conduct. The Bible tells us that in the end the Angels will spread out their nets to separate the wheat from the chaff. Give them enough rope and let them hang themselves so to speak. The revelation of God or any higher intelligence that has a strict code of ethics who might be setting such a trap would not profit from such a disclosure too soon either.
Hypothetically speaking, if our "soul" if you will is encoded in our DNA that would explain what Revelations means by The Book of Life. According to legend the names of everyone who ever lived is written in this book. Perhaps that is an ET database of all of our DNA sequences. If true, then perhaps the ET's are simply observing us. Basically checking out who is naughty and who is nice. That info gets collected into the book. In the end, the fire that destroys the chaff in the Bible may simply be the ET's deleting the DNA sequences of the naughty people. Everyone else left in the database can easily be cloned back into life. As Revelations says, "The second death has no power over them."
I know! That theory is pretty far out there. Yet, so are the ET's. Just another theory of what is going on. It has the benefit of explaining both science and religion in a way that I find palatable. This doesn't mean that I believe any of it. Like I said, I have an open mind and love to toss around these ideas.
The above theory is mine, not that of the program I mentioned earlier. I just used what I learned from it and my own studies to formulate the theory. By the way, if you haven't caught the series "Ancient Aliens" it's well worth the effort.

I agree w/ you in part...I do see $$$ in politics as a HUGE problem, but the only reason it has gotten to this point in the first place is the loss of control of ubiquitous media in the public interest...media that is fed to the people . W/out obvious media in the public interest, we can not educate, organize or control the dialogue. MLK would be invisible or jailed if he were active today...the media would have helped see to that. We must find a way to take back our media. Abby Martin had a great segment on that tonight..repeated at 9:30 EST and on youtube later...Breaking the Set. I honestly think that with today's media's "help" a ratified amendment in all 50 states to get $$ out of politics would get "lost" on the Federal Registrars desk and the People would NOT be the wiser. How can we just tell 5 out of every 6 citizens seeking employment that no job mathematically exists for them? Not only that, but some Libertarian nut also wants to add insult to injury by cutting off unemployment insurance and reducing food stamps. I hope the kids of these unemployed citizens grow up with a full knowledge of the individual and political party responsible for this child abuse.
sandlewood: Massive concentration of wealth and Citizens United are the two critical factors that have allowed those you refer to as OILigarchs to become stronger than our representative democracy. The ownership of our government by this group of private individuals is also known as Fascism.....and yes it is Treason.
The only governmental voice we the people have left is the Congressional Progressive Caucus and Senator Sanders...so all is not lost yet. But keep your powder dry, so to speak!
Sandlewould: Well if she is agnostic then that sure shoots my little theory all to pieces! Although I submit that the theory of evolution has had more supporting evidence than not. The so-called missing links are, from time to time, discovered and it is all a matter of just how much evidence does one need before they are convinced that it is a fact.
There are some areas of science that I believe are not much different than religion...like the Big Bang Theory. They want us to believe that something came from nothing. It's almost dogma. But I guess nothing is perfect..not even science. But it is sure a heck of a lot better than religion in explaining most things.
