I'm here because I'm a third generation Californian. I'm a walk away democrat. I couldn't know democrats better if I had to. I've been on Thoms mailing list for years. Was raised on Amy Goodman and Mother Jones, and watched this state go to hell. I listened to the interview Ms Clinton did last night with Christian Amapour. I still listen to both sides and I'm not brainwashed like the horse herder. Since I don't live in other states, or in Kends case other countries I'm interested in their opinions, unlike you. I'm even interested in your opinion....silly me! So if Thom asks me to leave I will respect his request, otherwise while I don't owe you an explaination this will have to do.

I'll be fine....I have a couple boxes of straws from years ago I've never opened. I'm one hours drive from a good resturant or a Burger King so we don't eat out much and I'm always ready to pack a lunch. :)
People are leaving...even here. The MMJ rules,regs and fines have driven people out for greener pastures. Never seen so many properties for sale. I took that one hour drive yesterday to grab groceries and meet up with friends. So, Ca. won't be getting their hands on all that extra revenue either.
If Facebook and other Social media left we would actually be better off. Poorer maybe but think of all those extreme Libs going back where they came from. YES!
Gavin Newsom D decided all the debate Ca. should get with Cox R was 1 hour on NPR Radio. No one heard it. Di Fi taught him well...thats one of her tricks...never debate!

I thought of you this morning as our server brought us a Bloody Mary with a genuine plastic straw.
I don’t know what to tell you about California that you don’t already know. As the corporations and uber rich continue to leave, you will be faced with a growing population of homeless and hourly wage workers. The tax base will decline resulting in higher taxes on those who are still employed. The inability to deduct your extremely high state and city taxes from your 1040 will jump up and slap a lot of your working people come tax time and the free ride the Federal government gifted you for years with that deduction will come to a halt. Right now your unfunded liabilities sitting at one trillion dollars could bankrupt many a European country. Don't feel alone, pockets of the east coast are not faring much better.
Once the leftie/socialists realize their main source of cash has moved to other states, the decay will ever accelerate. The sad news, roving Californians have destroyed once beautiful cities like Seattle and Portland which now look like the bad parts of LA.
I wish you well and I am glad you survived the fires.
