Election fraud primarily occurs after the votes leave the election board and are transferred to the Secretary of State for count confirmation. That is the point that cast ballots can be challenged and tossed out. I have worked at the polls and that is not the point of deliberate fraud. Read the Conyers Report on the voting fraud that occurred in Ohio.
WOW Sandlewould! What a SURPRISE!!! And I love your picture. You've just made my day honey! You bet I'd like to swap e-mail addresses. Did that with Marc already, weeks ago. Been a blast corresponding with him off the blog. I'd love to do the same with you... YES!
When Marc and I first took the plunge, we found it works best to make an "appointment". I'm on the Pacific time zone; are you on the east coast? I'm not quite sure how my weekend is gonna go schedule-wise, but let's work something out.
By the way, I should tell you not to expect to correspond with me in that live chat room... not beyond exchanging e-mail addresses. I much prefer taking the time to compose my messages, like this format permits. Works for me.
There's a thread I've been very involved with, if you're interested in checking it out. But let me warn you, the subject being discussed is very emotionally charged and not for the faint of heart. It's about rape, and "rape culture". (I'll admit, it brings out my ornery side with the stupid comments some guys have been making... ahem-ahem.) But there's a really neat woman blogger on that thread who for some reason, reminds me of you. Blog name is Zenzoe. Different crowd in those sidebar threads but interesting to interact with. Here's the link: http://www.thomhartmann.com/forum/2013/04/rape-culture-claims-another-victim-teen-ends-life-after-photo-her-alleged-gang-rape-go#comment-281662
Love that avatar, Sandles. Don't change it, pleeeeeazzze! - AIW
P.S. I tried e-mailing you via an address you'd submitted here months before, but no luck. I did this around the time Marc & I got set up to correspond off the blog. So your message really made my day.
Unfortunately, the workers know ONLY a job as a way to earn an income. Thus, they demonstrate and rally in support of raising the minimum wage on the grounds that they do not make enough to survive.
What is lacking is an understanding of why the rich are rich and addressing this issue head on. Its not rocket science to understand that the rich are rich because they are the OWNERS of wealth-creating, income-producing capital assets of businesses.
If we recognize this reality, then to address the problem of not earning enough income to survive it should be obvious that simply raising the minimum wage is not the solution, but instead the solution is to empower every worker — or anyone else — to become a capital owner. To make this the new reality we need to remove barriers to full participation in economic life, not put more in place. Fundamentally, the only thing keeping workers and anyone else from acquiring ownership shares of wealth-creating, income-producing capital assets is how to pay for the capital. Fortunately, we do not have to rely on past savings to finance new capital formation but merely make necessary reforms to shift to a system in which capital pays for itself out of its own earnings, and makes certain everyone who wants to be an owner has the equal opportunity and access to the means.
I am a Union Organizer. I watch every day as the Union busting jerks trick American business owners into spending billions of dollars to crush the lives of their employees. It takes an incredible amount of courage in America today for a group of workers to risk everything and form a Union. 99% of the time it’s not about money. Workers want a Union to help them gain respect and a voice in the work place. They are the ones doing the job. They see ways to improve the business. Only a fool would believe Unions want to destroy businesses. Union members know if their employer doesn’t make a profit, they won’t have a job. Volkswagen stated it is the workers input that makes their company profitable, which is why they have given office space to the United Auto Workers.
So called 'Right to work' needs to be called exactly what it is: RIGHT TO FREELOAD! That is the true wage theft. Freeloaders who work at a Union facility get all the benefits of a Union contract, but they don’t pay anything for it. The freeloaders expect the honorable workers who pay their fair share of dues with a portion of their wages to carry the bums. They disgust me. They have no honor. When corporate greed achieves its ultimate goal of bankrupting Unions, those cheating thieving scabs will find what it is like to live without Unions keeping the jack-boot of the robber barons off their throat.
In a case like this boycotts work, just imagine if an organization like a MASSIVE NATIONAL/INTERNATIONAL CONSUMER UNION existed to join in solidarity with these fast food workers. They could withhold their collective buying power from these compaines adding economic pressure on these food chains, to help the strikers negotiate from a position of strength.
Hip-hip-HOORAY! Those thieving franchise owners & CEOs are gonna have to share more of the bounty whether they like it or not.
Takes a tremendous amount of courage for someone living paycheck-to-paycheck to go on strike. I tip my hat to each and every one of them, for they are heroes in my book. - AIW
I don't think fast food is going to get 15$ an hour, but they could get something. Consider a company who's overhead for employees is 10 percent of it's total overhead. If they were to get a 10 percent raise, they would now be responsible for 11 percent of their company's total overhead. Dosen't seem very crippling to me.
Kinchlow suffers from cranial/rectal inversion. He's so steeped into HIS believes he can't see the hypocricy of his position. The government placing or allowing bibles in hotel/motel rooms shows a preference for that religion. Since no other relgion's holy books are allowed, that's biased. The religion right has a lot of sneeky ways of pushing their religion into government facilities and functions.
I'm sure the President is aware that 95% of the income gains the last several years have gone to the top 1%.
With this in mind, Obama says he will make sure ISIS is no longer an ongoing threat to regions in the Middle East. The bug up my ass is ...why doesn't he speak out with the same conviction concerning the Fascist Corp/billionaire threat to our own homeland?Ongoing massive concentration of wealth and out of control spending on military adventures will eventually lead to domestic violent unrest, how can it not? We're the richest country on the planet and our middle class is now 27th in ranking and dropping like a rock....talk about a threat to national security. Wake the f up!
Your list is too long and therefore impossible to get anything done. Let's start with helping each other without any ice water. The young are showing us the way. One step at a time or skipping all the way it can get better.
There were protests in Little Rock, AR today, which made the local news. Although there were 11 people arrested, they were all released without a major problem. And, nice to see that the police were dressed like normal police and not ninja cops with full battle gear. Surprised that our AR cops are not all militarized, but then AR did have a democratic Governor and legislature until 2012. Well, still have a Democratic Governor, Mike Beebe who I like quite well but he's term limited out at the end of this year. We'll miss him. Former Congressman Mike Ross is running on the Democratic ticket but he's not the good Demcratic that Beebe is. He voted more then 1/2 the time with the Tea Party and not my idea of a true Democrat but better then Republican Asa Hutchinson who is his oppononet.
It would be interesting how the fast food industry would change with $15.00 / hr burger flippers. Micky D's 99 cent burger would be 3 bucks. There wouldn't be any jobs left for 15 year olds they would be taken up with full timers. It would sure open the door for small non union independents. I better to go and sell my Burger King shares. Just kidding I would never trust my hard earned money with those Wall Street crooks.
Looks like McDonald's is making headlines without benefit of any traditional union representation. These types of demonstrations seem to keep poping up more frequently. They will most likely lose, but their efforts will be noted by others who might want to try giving it a go. If these disruptions become frequent enough, employers will have to start paying attention. Which will encourage others to jump in. It's a slow start, bit it's real. If someone can get their foot in the door, it will make others jealous and add fuel to the fire. Greed could work to our benefit for a change.
"Call your members of Congress " and tell them that violence begets violence and that two can play the same game. There is only one thing which makes strong unions: working people willing to build them by whatever means necessary. For a long time now unions -- what's left of them -- have tried to get the govt to do their fighting for them against the corporations, just as trade unionists in Germany expected the government to protect them from the Nazis. Trotsky was right: kick butt and ask questions later. The 'politicians' in the left wdn't hear of it and got what they deserved. The Amerikan government is the property of the corporations; don't people get that yet?
A "Yes" and a "Yes"? Sound like the voting is rigged! We're getting the same illusion of choice as we get when we vote for the Democrats or the Republicans. When it comes to health care, we need to do away with Obamacare and switch to a Single Payer program, and yes, Congress, the President, the Judical Systems, and all individuals should get the same program the rest of us get, and no, after they leave they don't get to keep getting their health care for free. And no, retired politicans shouldn't get their salary for life either.
Interesting---two "Yes" votes. Are low wage workers inspiring a new union movement, actually the correct answer is "no". Not that we couldn't do with a new union movement; one seperated from the hooks of the Democratic Party which is interested in sucking dry the coffers of the unions or in "using, abusing and losing" union volunteers.
Unions need to redefine themselves and what they stand for and what they can and intend to accomplish. They need to divorce themselves from the "Plan A" wing of the Corporate Party (with "Plan B" being the GOP). They need to create a third, independant political party and run working class candidates who are interested solely in taking care of the needs of the Working Class (including those who formerly belonged so something once referred to as a "Middle Class").
We need to secure our borders. Reform our economic system including an audit on the Federal Reserve and a either a flat or consumpation based tax system. We need to find heavily companies which outsource jobs or employ illegal immigrants--including losing any tax advantages and/or operationial licenses. We need to scrap "Obamacare" and switch to a single payer plan. We need term limits and eliminate BS laws like Citizens United and McCutcheons while capping or eliminating what lobbists and corporations can give and do. We need a line item veto. We need to eliminate gerrymandering and allow non-partisan associations (like universites) to establish boundries. We need to promote alternative energy; make it a national priority while nationalizing oil, gas, and electrial companies since they claim what they do is apart of "national security". We need to stop bribing foreign governments.
These are all ideas a third party/independent union party could adopt. The only trouble I see, besides winning a lot of offices, is the Corporate party's "Plan A" and "Plan B" wings trying to co-opt the ideas in order to water them down or deflate them.
The aluminum industry had no way of disposing of fluoride as a waste by-product so city commissions were encouraged to add it to drinking water. That would be ALCOA and its mining cronies.
It is known that over-exposure to fluoride causes cancer in 1/10,000. FDA scientist whistleblowers were fired for releasing this info years ago.
We are over fluorinated- our water, toothpaste, dental products, and in food.
1/10,000 means we all may know someone who has developed cancer from fluoride exposure. Ask where tumors come from, not just how to get rid of them.

As zjas says, both choices are true. However, voter suppression is worse than both frauds combined.
This poll is just silly.
The fast food strike is a good start to rebuilding this country to it's former glory.

Richard J, the idea of a national/international consumer union gives me goose bumps... YEAH!
Hi ALice...
On a publicly personal note, how the hell are ya?! Crazy summer ...still want to get together in the chat room to exchange personal emails...
OK a bit off topic but in light of Thom's recent release on Green World Rising, I thought it important to share; http://arctic-news.blogspot.com/2014/09/state-of-extreme-emergency.html?mc_cid=b5de2e6df7&mc_eid=57581abffc

I agree buyers should strike back too, by boycotting the establishments and institutions of tyrants.
