We need to stop voting for both corporate controlled parties. Yes, the Dems are better than the Republicans but neither are not representing working Americans.
The totality of our lack luster society is that the average citizen doesn't have time to pay and heed to the overall political arena of today. They are either too consumed with their work and family responsibilities and just are totally disenchanted with the endless negative media coverage (FOX NEWS) resulting with many of them not even taking the opportunity to vote. I have come to the realization that 1% has infiltrated the media with a host of lies and deception and absolutely has to be dealt with, and that being my ultimate goal of the supreme courts ruling on Citizens United ruling.
@donna ford Imagine for a minute you have a $100 dollar bill. You light the edge of it with a match and it burns to a fine ash. Now it is entirely worthless to you and everyone else. Then, imagine that same $100 dollar bill in the pocket of an illegal. The illegal spends that $100 dollars at a retailer. The retailer takes the proceeds, pays a portion of his bills, pays a portion of his taxes and pays a bit of the wages of his employees. He also saves or invests just a tad of it and maybe he has just a bit to spend (elsewhere in the economy) on himself. Magnify this idea multi-fold over the whole economy .Get it? Money does not stop with first use. Unless that illegal burns up that $100 dollar bill , you , me and millions of others in the 99% economically benefit. (Even if this illegal sends those dollars home, as US dollars they still get spent in the worldwide economy.)
Solar is a good investment. Right off the top, the Feds will give you a 30% tax credit. On a $25,000 install I receive over $8,000. The State of Md kicks in another $1,000. (Other states also offer rebates as well). Solar Renewable Energy Credits (Srec's) add an additional amount per megawatt. (I generate 8 megawatts per year and sell them at approx $120.00/ megawatt). Net metering is the frosting on the cake, reducing my electrical bill to almost 0. My ROI ( return on investment ) is between 10-15%. None of this includes the added increased value of my house. This is not smoke and mirrors folks it's an all around good investment.
This "legalized corruption" is only legal because the corrupt politicians make the laws. We might be waiting forever if we're waiting for them to change it.
What a shame. Hopefully the electorate will kick the bad guys out, but i think Americans are stupid. If someone is part of the 99%, why the hell would they vote for a Repulsican ??? That's why are country is hurting, because people dont vote or vote for the person who is not going to help them.
Government by urim and thummim--hilarious. You may as well flip a coin with its sides labeled "guilty" and "innocent", rather than having a jury and lawyers. Better yet, get a monkey and a typewriter, "consecrate" them, and let the monkey type the laws. That would be some serious trust in God.
Harry Hempy ~ I don't live in Colorado Sir; however, if I did rest assured you would have my vote and support. The best of luck! I feel confident that the good people of Colorado will stand up and take notice.
The largest city in Bernie Sander's state of Vermont, Burlington, has just announced that it now gets 100% of it's electrical energy from renewable--wind, water, and biomass--sources.
They don't owe there success to the government for the infrastructure, they helped pay for it. Try replacing the word government with tax payer Because thats who pays. Corperations are tax payers just like you and I. The government doesn't make any money, tax payers do. -
I refrain from voting on this.

Regulated capital serves the people. Unregulated captial serves itself.
I agree with you , they really don't know what they stand for .
I don't think so because most Libertarians have no ideal what they stand for

That was Caspar Weinberger, not Weinberg.
Great conversation Thom . I really enjoyed David's analysis and understanding of economics and how it relates to life .
You Two would make a formidable team whenever two are gathered there I'AM .
The problem is that the voters can't kick the "do nothing" members out of office. Elections are staggard, and besides, there would be no one left.

We'll develop green energy, Kend, that won't be expensive.

I dunno.
This might be overly cynical but they have a saying for that - Wish in one hand and do something in the other. It escapes me.

It is wisely written: "Money is the root of all evil". For proof of this, one need look no further than Congress.
I'll trust God when She directly tells me to. But I'm not so sure about your hearsay about what She says for you to tell me.

Spain used the peseta, not the peso.
How about we rename ISIS the Combined Islamic State in Syria and Iraq, thereby giving it the acronym CISSI?
I'm guessing the agnostics are trying to decide if 'in god we trust' is insulting to them. Maybe yes, maybe no.
I do agree w/ the Hemp issue, whole hartedly...& it doesn't mean we don't keep tryin'!

Way to go Bernie! Let Vermont lead the way!
