Full Show 3/14/12: Wall Street Wins AL and MS Primaries

Thom looks at who the real winners were in last night's GOP primaries. Tonight's "Lone Liberal Rumble" panel discusses the drumbeat to war with Iran despite its unpopularity among Americans, the spread of undemocratic voter ID laws and Sarah Palin's call for a debate with Barack Obama. In tonight's "Daily Take" Thom explains why we need to treat Wall Street like we treat the pharmaceutical industry.

Lone Liberal Rumble - What would Palin write on her palm debating Obama?

Brian Darling, Human Events & David Martosko, Daily Caller join Thom to talk about derivatives, Iran, Voter ID laws and Palin vs. Obama. --- Anyone else thinks Santorum is Sarah Palin in a suit? -- So when are Republicans going to come clean and admit that when there's a Republican in the White House they spend like drunken sailors to make the economy work, and when there's a democrat in the White House they do everything they can to scream about debt and block spending? -- When Pharmaceutical companies make a new drug - it takes 8 years to approve, trial after trial, test after test. When Wall Street make a new financial instrument - they just sell it. What's up with that? -- Iran: It seems that a decade of failed wars has helped the American public to understand that this country can't afford to start another one. -- Aren't the chances of being struck by lightning greater than the likelihood of someone committing voter fraud? -- Quickfire! Wracked by a week of bad press - Gubernatorial quitter Sarah Palin took to her Facebook page to challenge President Obama to a debate, she wrote, "I'm more than happy to accept the dubious honor of being Barack Obama's 'enemy of the week'...[and] debate him on the issues American are actually concerned about." We know that Sarah Palin likes to prep by writing her notes on her hand - so what might she scrawl on her palm before going toe-to-toe with President Obama?

Are we all Financial Muppets Now?

Now that a former Wall Street executive has come clean on Goldman Sachs - what do We The People need to do to make sure banksters don't screw us over again?

The Good! *US Senate* Despite Big Oil's chants of "Drill, Baby, Drill", the Senate yesterday rejected an amendment that would have opened up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and other protected areas to oil drilling. The Bad! *US Senator Mitch McConnell* In a heated debate yesterday over the filibustering of seventeen judicial nominees - Senate Minority Leader McConnell admitted that while it is unlikely any of the nominees will not be confirmed - he is filibustering them because Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid made him look bad. and the Very Very Ugly! *TAPPS* TAPPS - or the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools - is an athletic association consisting of primarily private Christian schools and some Jewish schools.

Full Show 3/13/12: Super (PAC) Tuesday

Thom looks at the impact the Citizens United decision had on the Alabama and Mississippi primaries. Also discussed: Sarah Palin's bad week, the ever increasing rise in the cost of college and in tonight's "Daily Take" Thom talks about why Republicans need to start acting like Ronald Reagan to save the economy.

Palin - Dog-Whistle Politics?

Shannyn Moore, Host-The Shannyn Moore Show, joins Thom Hartmann. While using corporate money is one way for Conservatives to win an election - they've been using another tactic far longer - dog-whistle politics.

Why Republicans should start acting like Reagan

Our economy desperately needs Republicans to put politics aside - and work with President Obama and Democrats to pass a common-sense economic stimulus to put millions of Americans back to work. That doesn't mean Republicans have to act like "socialists" - or spend money like drunken sailors. All it means is that Republicans have to act like Reagan - and show the same respect to the office of the Presidency that Democrats gave Reagan thirty years ago. In other words - they should start acting like the "Party of Reagan" that they claim to be - instead of acting like the "Party of Crashing the Economy to Make Obama a One-Term President."

Your Take/My Take - Keystone oil for foreign not US

Mary Lou on the Thom Hartmann Facebook asks..."Why hasn't the national media told us that the oil that would flow through the XL Pipeline would be destined for foreign ports, not homeland use? Listen to McKibben!"

The Good, The Bad and the Very Very Cacestogenously Ugly

The Good! *The American Public* Even though Congressional Republicans are attacking President Obama over high gas prices - it appears the American public can see right through the lies. The Bad! *Representative Cliff Stearns* In a meeting with constituents in Florida last month - Stearns told the audience that America needs to sell off it's national parks. And the Very Very Ugly! *Grover Norquist* In an interview on the Daily Show last night - Jon Stewart asked Norquist if President Reagan should be scorned for raising taxes during his presidency.
