House Republicans today excitedly unveiled their long-awaited replacement plan for Obamacare. The plan of course begins with repealing Obamacare - and then aims to make Medicare more profitable for banksters in the health insurance business while raising the retirement age to 67 - cap Medicaid payments so really sick people are totally screwed - and provide a tax credit so if you're going to get any money from the government for healthcare you can only do it once a year and have to fill out all sorts of paperwork. But even worse - the plan isn't even a plan. It’s a white paper - not an actual bill - which means that the plan can avoid the specifics necessary in a bill - and it avoids having to put forward any real budget numbers whatsoever. And the truth is - this plan is complicated even without the details - and it's basically a way to make more profits for private insurers while giving the health insurance banksters the right, once again, to figure out a million little ways to screw their customers. So isn't it time to go to a simple and affordable plan - like single payer Medicare-for-All?
