Trump's Paramilitaries Have Turned GOPers Into Bullies or Left Them "Scared Sh**less"
But Democrats have some big sticks, if they choose to use them. In the minds of the authoritarian base of the GOP, there are only two kinds of people: those who bully, and those who get bullied. Republicans in Congress have decided which side they're on. Or at least which side they're cowed by. Liz Cheney recently said that a number of Republicans in the House of Representatives believed Donald Trump had committed crimes for which he should be impeached, but were afraid to vote for impeachment. They were, Cheney said, "Afraid for their own security and … afraid for their lives." The events of January 6, where a few thousand Trump-aligned traitors brought a gallows to the Capitol building to hang the Vice President of the United States, and another group went in search of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to "put a bullet in her forehead," make it clear their fears were not misplaced. GOP Is Raising the Next Racist Generation of Right Wing Crackpots
Control of our schools is essential to the GOP undoing the "wokeness" of the Millennial Generation and returning the US to a "1950s Beaver Cleaver" kind of racial order. Imagine if hard-core crazies like Marjorie Taylor Greene ran most of the school boards all across America. They could raise up an entire new generation of civics-clueless right-wing racist kids, and probably keep much of it well below the nation's radar screen. That's the GOP's current plan, and they're gaining real traction in getting there. They've found their new 2021 "bigoted wedge issue" — crushing teachers and schools that want to teach the horrors of genocide and racism — and it's cranking up their base just like gay marriage or "radical Islam" did a decade or two ago. My father had all this political capital built up when he drove the Iraqis out of Kuwait and he wasted it. If I have a chance to invade... if I had that much capital, I'm not going to waste it. I'm going to get everything passed that I want to get passed and I'm going to have a successful presidency." - My Testimony for the Downing Street Memo Hearings" by Cindy Sheehan, June 16 2005.
