Americans Must Drive a Stake Through the Heart of the NeoCalvinist Republican Party
Once again, negotiations over Covid relief show the stark differences between the Democratic and Republican Parties. That America isn't shocked and horrified by GOP behavior is a testimonial to how well corporate media obscures these differences. Several Republican senators and their aides have gone so far as to suggest that giving working people even a single $600 check will cause them to "live high on the hog" or will bring "communism" to America. The same Republicans are enthusiastic when the very rich, their principal donors, get trillions in tax cuts and hundreds of billions in annual subsidies. When those pieces of legislation are being negotiated, "living high on the hog" is not a phrase you will hear. Read more here. -Thom

Thursday's Daily Stack
Hour One: Americans Must Drive a Stake Through the Heart of the NeoCalvinist Republican Party...
Quote: " The occupation of an hairdresser, or of a working tallow-chandler, cannot be a matter of honour to any person - to say nothing of a number of other more servile employments. Such descriptions of men ought not to suffer oppression from the state; but the state suffers oppression, if such as they, either individually or collectively, are permitted to rule. In this you think you are combating prejudice, but you are at war with nature" - Edmund Burke.
Bible: " Romans 3:23". " for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"
Quote: " There are some upon this earth of yours," returned the Spirit, "who lay claim to know us, and who do their deeds of passion, pride, ill-will, hatred, envy, bigotry, and selfishness in our name, who are as strange to us and all our kith and kin, as if they had never lived." - Charles Dickens.
Hour Two: Conversations With Great Minds: Everything You Know is Wrong: How the Federal Government Used ESP to Spy- Dr. Edwin C. May PhD (Nuclear Physics), Founder/Director - Laboratories for Fundamental Research.
