Trump Is Fiddling While America Is Burning
This morning, Trump retweeted a picture of himself playing a violin. Seriously. It's like he's trying to tell us in the most obvious way possible that he doesn't give a damn if America burns to the ground. He also doesn't want people rescued from an infected cruise ship because it he "likes the numbers where they are" and shouldn't go up because of "something that's not our fault." Trump doesn't give a damn about you and me, and only would if we inherited a fortune and could buy one of his condos. Then we could join Mar-A-Lago and become one of his policy advisors, like the three guys there who are running the VA with absolutely no oversight or way to be held responsible for the outcome. Seriously - there are three guys down there, none of them veterans, running the VA. You can google it. America is on fire and our leader is fiddling. What could possibly go wrong? -Thom

Trump Won't Help Us; Can We Help Ourselves?
South Korea has tested over 180,000 people for the coronavirus. We have tested 500 in the entire country. Because of Trump's incompetence, our nation is completely unprepared for a pandemic. But there are small steps states, cities and businesses can take without Trump When you travel through an airport in China, you walk through a full body scanner that measures if you have a fever. Here in the United States, you can buy in your local drugstore or on Amazon a thermometer that looks like a small radar device that you can point at someone's forehead from a few feet away and it will immediately tell you their temperature. It costs about $20! Why are we not, as a simple starting point, equipping security guards in our schools and TSA people at airports with these widely available devices to prevent children with fevers from entering schools and people with fevers from getting on airplanes? Or restaurants and hotels? Or office buildings? If we can't rely on Trump's government to protect us, we need to look for ways to protect ourselves. -Thom
