As the world burns, and more and more fossil fuels are being used every day planet-wide, atmospheric carbon dioxide levels passed 416 ppm this week at the Mauna Loa Observatory in Hawaii. In the 300,000 years since the emergence of modern humans, carbon dioxide levels have never been this high.

The fossil fuel industry has literally created an atmosphere to which the human species is not adapted, and which our civilization may not survive. as teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg said, "The saddest thing is that this won't be breaking news." In well, Donald Trump and the entire Republican Party continue to deny that this is even an issue, so their billionaires fossil fuel donors can continue to rake in the cash. If this doesn't qualify as a crime against humanity, nothing does.
