Chuck Collins and Josh Hoxie are confirming the numbers that Bernie Sanders and other progressives keep pointing out - that three men in America own more wealth than the bottom half of America - over 160 million people. While one-fifth of America has no or negative net worth, the Forbes 400 individuals own more wealth than 64 percent of Americans.

The last time we saw these numbers was in 1929, which should give us serious pause. Inequality like this, the result of the Reagan, Bush, and Trump tax cuts, leads to an explosion of social ills, from homelessness to wiping out the middle class to a takeover of our democracy by the ultra-rich.

Will 1929 be repeated? Will democracy survive?
