How Has the Right Wing Takeover of the GOP and the Media Changed America?
On Tucker Carlson's show, David Horowitz said, "The creation of America was probably the greatest gift given to Black people in 3,000 years..." He added that "the people who hate America on the left, and this embraces so much of the Democratic Party these days, have conducted a 50-year, 60-year attack on Christianity in this country." What is the impact on our country and our young people of this kind of racism and use of religion for partisan purposes? Where does this kind of rhetoric from Fox and rightwing hate radio take our nation? How do you see this playing out? And what will it take to get us back to the values that we once embraced of "E Pluribus Unum" or "Out of many, one," and the notion of the Founders that there should be a "wall of separation between church and state"? -Thom

Tuesday's Daily Stack
Hour One: How Has the Right Wing Takeover of the GOP and the Media Changed America?
Tweet: " So interesting to see "Progressive" Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly......" by Donald J. Trump.
Tweet: " ....and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run. Why don't they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how...." by Donald J. Trump.
Quote: " These are the people who spent the last forty years telling everyone how to live, who to love, what to think about morality. And then this motherf-er comes along defiling the White House and disrespecting God's children at every turn, but it's cool, because he gave them two Supreme Court justices. They got their thirty pieces of silver." - Michael Steele.
Hour Three: What Is the Impact of Trump Sweeping Americans into his Concentration Camps?
Ice is Turning Kids Over to Rapists???
Tweet: " I hope you don't mind if I disagree. It was less a case of both sides than a perfect illustration of how the raciat theater is working on the Right. It's important for progressives to understand that most Americans are both racially fearful and also opposed to stark racism." by Ian Haney Lopez.
