Tim Wise, who helped run a campaign against David Duke, points out that when they tried to talk about the issues and ignored Duke's appeal to racism, it depressed the white anti-Duke Vote. In the next campaign, the theme was that David Duke doesn't represent American values and that electing an open racist to Congress or the governorship would cause a disaster for the state because people would view it as a pariah. This is how we need to campaign against Trump, putting his hate, bigotry, misogyny and racism at the center of the campaign. A Twofer would be to also point out that he and the entire Republican Party are hopelessly criminal and corrupt.
