Who Will Stop World War III?
 Back in 2001, after 9/11, Congress gave the president the authority to basically wage war anywhere in the world where there were governments affiliated with Al Qaeda, the radical Sunni Muslim group that came out of the Saudi Wahhabist movement. Iran is Shia Muslim, essentially the sworn enemies of the Sunnis. But now the Trumps are telling us that Iran has an affiliation with Al Qaeda. It appears this is just to satisfy the requirement of that 2001 Authorization to Use Military Force or AUMF. If so, Congress needs to change that AUMF right now! Will the Republicans have the courage to do what's right and join with Democrats to block this president from starting World War III? -Thom |
