This Is How Terrible Things Always Begin In Authoritarian Regimes
 We condemn China for the intensity of their surveillance state, but most Americans don't realize that Trump's ICE has hired private companies to surveil people who are protesting Trump's immigration policies. If you didn't like the idea of tearing children from their parents and you talked about it on Facebook, or you showed up at a public protest, or you even posted a comment about it on one of many message boards, ICE now not only has your name, but all of your personal information and your Facebook history. They not only know you, but they know your friends and relatives. They know how you spend your spare time. They know what you do for a living. They know where you are. And, most importantly, they know that you don't agree with their policies and have put that flag in their files. This is how really terrible things begin in authoritarian regimes, and it needs to stop immediately. -Thom |
