The past six months have barely seemed real - but the election of Donald Trump was no fluke. It was the direct result of a Republican effort to rig our election system.

A new ABC News/Washington Post poll has found just 36 percent of Americans approve of the job he is doing.
This is a record low for a president six months into his term.
If you're a Republican looking forward to the 2018 midterm elections this is bad, bad news.
An unpopular president usually translates into defeat at the ballot boxes... unless - of course - you've already rigged the system to make victory all but inevitable.
And rigging the system is exactly what Republicans have done.
