Is It Time To Invoke The 25th Amendment And Remove Trump From Office?
After spending a year-and-a-half calling for Hillary Clinton to be sent to jail for disclosing classified information, Donald Trump now appears to be guilty of doing just that. Is time to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove him from office?
According to a blockbuster story in the Washington Post, Donald Trump revealed highly classified information to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian ambassador Sergey Kysliak when the two visited the White House last week.
According to the Post,
"Trump... discuss[ed] aspects of the threat that the United States only learned through the espionage capabilities of a key partner... [and] described how the Islamic State was pursuing elements of a specific plot and how much harm such an attack could cause."
As if that wasn't bad enough, this disclosure apparently came about about because Trump wanted to impress the Russians.
As the Post reports:
"In his meeting with Lavrov, Trump seemed to be boasting about his inside knowledge of the looming threat. 'I get great intel. I have people brief me on great intel every day'."
Is it seriously time Pence and other Republicans consider invoking the 25th Amendment? This is starting to remind me of Reagan's final years in office but without the stabilizing influence of Nancy Reagan.
