Absolutely can't WAIT to see this!!! I have feeling it may have even more "oomph" than did "Inside Job", which set the standard as far as I'm concerned. Bravo!

Chris Drew has won an important battle in his Felony Eavesdropping case. Illinios Criminal Courts Judge Stanley Sacks declared the law unconstitutional last Friday. States Attorney Anita Alvarez is appealing to the Illinois Supreme Court.

Although I'm just a jailhouse lawyer (who has so far avoided the jail part), I think Drew will prevail.

Charles Murray is partially right about comparing what someone with a lower income can buy today vs the 60's. The same can be said about the cave man of 10,000 years ago and the cave man of today, or of people with dirt floor, single wall houses with chickens in the yard in the early 1900s and the people with dirt floors today. The standard of living has changed such that the norms of the 60s are not the norms of today. Further, while stereo systems are much cheaper today than they were in the 60s, doctors visits are much more expensive. Perhaps he would only consider comparing the cost for cures for diseases of the 60's with their cost today.

Finally, during the 60's it was very common for your mother-in-law to live with you and rare to take your children to day-care, today these are considered impractical solutions for many situations.

From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"Thom Hartmann is a creative thinker and committed small-d democrat. He has dealt with a wide range of topics throughout his life, and this book provides an excellent cross section. The Thom Hartmann Reader will make people both angry and motivated to act."
Dean Baker, economist and author of Plunder and Blunder, False Profits, and Taking Economics Seriously
From Cracking the Code:
"No one communicates more thoughtfully or effectively on the radio airwaves than Thom Hartmann. He gets inside the arguments and helps people to think them through—to understand how to respond when they’re talking about public issues with coworkers, neighbors, and friends. This book explores some of the key perspectives behind his approach, teaching us not just how to find the facts, but to talk about what they mean in a way that people will hear."

From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"In an age rife with media-inspired confusion and political cowardice, we yearn for a decent, caring, deeply human soul whose grasp of the problems confronting us provides a light by which we can make our way through the quagmire of lies, distortions, pandering, and hollow self-puffery that strips the American Dream of its promise. How lucky we are, then, to have access to the wit, wisdom, and willingness of Thom Hartmann, who shares with us here that very light, grown out of his own life experience."
Mike Farrell, actor, political activist, and author of Just Call Me Mike and Of Mule and Man
