Tim Donaghy PhD, Greenpeace USA joins Thom. As his time in office winds down - President Obama is starting to focus on legacy issues. One of them is global warming. Of all the presidents in American history - President Obama has arguably done the most to fight global warming. Among other things - he's put in place the Clean Power Plan - helped negotiate the Paris Climate Deal - and after some prodding by activists - rejected the Keystone XL pipeline. These are all good things - which makes his recent decision to expand offshore drilling in the Arctic all the more distressing - especially given the findings in a new report from Greenpeace. That report has found that the Obama administration's offshore drilling plan would "lead to a net increase in global carbon emissions of about 850 million metric tons of carbon dioxide... equivalent to the annual emissions of 3.6 million passenger vehicles over fifty years."
