Eric Thompson-Bey - Eric Thompson-Bey is a homeless man here in DC - and earlier today we spent an hour together at the corner of I street and 14th street distributing "Street Sense” newspapers. By the end - my toes and fingers were frozen - but Eric does this every single day - rain - snow - or shine. The "Street Sense" program is a great program here in DC that helps the homeless by elevating their voices, involving them in every part of the publication and distribution process, and earning them a living. And involving people is one of the best ways to help people. We salute the work that Eric and everyone else is doing at Street Sense - and we hope that more of these programs show up in more cities all over the country.
