Caucus chief Raul Labrador now says his group of hardcore right-wing Koch-network recipients won’t support the commons-slashing budget plan proposed by Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and GOP leadership. They think the plan doesn’t do enough to gut spending on programs that help people and are refusing to vote for it unless leadership adds ANOTHER 30 billion in cuts to social services and the commons. A government shutdown - this time in an election year - is now very much a possibility. Welcome to another day in the circus that is the 114th Congress. Luckily - though - not everyone on Capitol Hill is as obsessed with destroying the government as the Koch-assisted Freedom Caucus is. Today - the Congressional Progressive Caucus introduced its own budget plan - one that actually believes in the power of the government to do good - and one that is actually based on policy - not ideology.
