According to a new report from the AFL-CIO - the US's top 500 chief executives took home 340 times what the average worker makes a year - taking home 12.4 million dollars on average. In comparison - in 2015 the average production worker earned only 36,900 dollars that year. That means that while America's top CEOs are earning nearly 6000 dollars an hour - as opposed to tipped minimum wage workers - who make 2 dollars and 13 cents an hour. Isn't it time to redistribute the wealth with a progressive income tax - like we used to have when America's economy actually worked - before Reagan handed America's wealth to the billionaire class?
