Earlier today the U.S. Supreme Court announced that it will review portions of Texas' landmark 2013 abortion law. The court will review whether two provisions of the law create an unconstitutional obstacle for women seeking abortions. One provisions requires all doctors who perform abortions in the state to maintain admitting privileges at a nearby hospital. And the other provision requires all abortions to be performed in facilities that meet many pages of rules and standards. Currently only nine abortion facilities in the entire state meet the minimum requirements. Shouldn't the court overturn this as a violation of these women's 14th amendment rights?
